LVN to RN Bridge (Associate Degree in Nursing)

West Coast University provides you with real-world skills to succeed in your new career. You will acquire the theoretical competency and technical know-how to work in a hospital, long-term care facility, doctor’s office, and more. The course will prepare you to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and start your career in a professional capacity.

The Associate Degree in Nursing program provides you with the opportunity to advance your career in a short period of time. The program requires a total of 73 units in the areas of general education, science and specialized nursing occupation courses. Upon completion of the course, you will be prepared to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, from Medical Surgical Nursing to Leadership, Management and Current Nursing Issues. You will receive a well-rounded base of knowledge that qualifies you to provide nursing care to older patients, the mentally ill and other individuals of all ages.

A laboratory experience will assess your previous skill level and teach hands-on skills that are essential for the practicing RN. Emphasis will be placed on the physical assessment of the patient, pharmacology of intravenous drugs and blood, blood component therapy, IV therapy techniques, and drug calculations of intravenous medications.
